  1. Kyle Byron says:

    Hey Ron

It’s true – walnuts are a superfood. Very high in polyunsaturated fats, which we need to chase down or we won’t get them (they’re too rare). Heart health, brain, nerve, mood etc.

For emergency snacking however you missed the most important thing – protein. Always start your snack or meal by choosing the protein.

Nuts are mostly fat. they only have a few grams of protein. yogurt and berries are both high sugar low protein choices.

Here is how you can improve snacks:

change the yogurt and fruit to cottage cheese (pressed) WITH 5-10 … WALNUTS

this way you get protein, carbs AND fat together. Every time you eat it should contain this balance

    walnuts, chicken, vegetables

    hummus and vegetables

protein powder and yogut and 5 walnuts

Proper nutrition in real life is making the best choice you can in the situation you’re in. Knowledge is usually the first limiting factor and i’ve taken care of that. Planning is usually barrier #2. Keep snack foods handy and cook extra food when you cook.
